NFL great Kurt Warner proved he can throw a football in the Super Bowl, but can he draw a TV audience?
The USA Network is banking on it, and has drafted Warner to host “The Moment,” a new, nine-episode reality series in which participants get a second chance to go back and take a different direction in life.
“Everyone has a ‘what-if’ moment in their life — a decision or path they could have taken — but rarely do they get a second chance to explore what they could have been,” the show’s executive producers, Charlie Ebersol and Justin Hochberg, said in a statement. “We created a format that taps into this emotion, and proved so powerful that it attracted Kurt Warner — the guy who got his own second chance — to his first reality hosting gig.”
Warner does have a pretty convincing feel-good story.

Poor, Michael Fassbender. The Academy turned their backs on him after he gave us four excellent performances this year (Shame, X-Men First Class, Jayne Eyre, and A Dangerous Method) and may have had the best year as an actor.
Even before Fox debuted Fringe in 2008, the series suffered under the unfair question of whether it would be the next version of its producer J.J. Abrams Lost. Once the show aired, it was quickly clear that the show had no such intention: it was more episodic, less baroque and more of a paranormal-gumshoe show along the lines of The X-Files, and it would be a full season until it developed into the parallel-universe sci-fi thriller that we now know Fringe to be.
The question for Abrams Alcatraz is now, instead, whether it will be the next Fringe.
Plans call for roughly 1,000 boats of various sizes to gather June 3 for an unprecedented tribute to the queen, who is marking the 60th year of her reign.
The flotilla will be over seven miles long and include barges on which original works composed for the jubilee will be performed. The event is planned to celebrate Britain’s fabled maritime history.
The queen, her husband Prince Philip and other senior royals _ likely including Prince William and his wife, the former Kate Middleton _ will travel on board a royal barge, The Spirit of Chartwell, an opulent cruising vessel that regularly plies the River Thames.
The barge will be decorated with flowers from the queen’s gardens, with an emphasis on the royal colors, red, gold and purple.
Pageant Master Adrian Evans said the royal barge “must be a jewel _ the most magnificent vessel in the flotilla.”
Organizers say the flotilla, one of the largest ever assembled on the river, will include rowboats, working vessels and pleasure craft.
