Fat Freddys Drop make a welcome return to the UK this week for two headline shows at the 02 Brixton Academy on 18th June and Birminghams HMV Institute on the 21st June. Initially intended to a one show run, the Birmingham show was added due to popular demand, while Harvest At Jimmys convinced the band to come back over in September for a UK festival exclusive performance in September.
The band have fully established themselves as firm live favorites here in the UK having sold out some of the countries bigger venues and wowing festival audiences around the UK. Long extended jams, soul drenched vocals and jazz harmonies, underpinned by a rhythm section as comfortable laying down a throbbing techy soundscape as they are swampy blues stomp. Their live show was captured in last years Live From The Roundhouse CD, recorded on the second sold out night at Londons Roundhouse in 2008.
Fat Freddys Drop have also announced the launch of their brand new iPhone app on the 20th June. The app will give fans exclusive access to music, videos, news and live activity and comes loaded with this brand new video of Mailian duo Amadou Miriam covering Fat Freddys Drop classic debut single Hope.
