Metallica Records Full Album With Lou Reed

– Metallica have revealed that they’ve been hard at work on a full-length collaborative album with Velvet Underground legend Lou Reed. The news comes after hints from the band earlier this year that they were working on a major project that was not “100 percent Metallica.”
“Some of you astute Bay Area residents may have picked up news of recent Lou Reed sightings in the greater San Francisco area and we have indeed been working at our home studio at HQ on and off over the last few months,” the band released in an official statement.
“In what would be lightning speed for a Metallica-related project, we recorded 10 songs during this time and while at this moment we’re not exactly sure when you’ll hear it, we’re beyond excited to share with you that the recording sessions wrapped up last week,” they add.
They also said that Reed and Kirk Hammett “kicked around the idea of making a record together” after meeting up at the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame induction ceremony in 2009.
