Baldwin made sure to mention his new record during his monologue opening Saturday’s show. The “30 Rock” star kicked off “SNL”‘s 37th season.
Hosting rival Steve Martin stopped by with Seth Rogen to make sure Alec broke the hosting record “without the use of steroids or performance enhancing drugs.”
Before Saturday, Martin and Baldwin were tied for the title of most frequent host, with each having hosted 15 times.
