Bryan Ferry Recovering At Home After Release From The Hospital
Written on April 8, 2011 by Lucy Coughlan

I had no idea Bryan Ferry is 65-year-old. I was made aware of the stylish singer’s age when news broke that the Roxy Music singer has been released from a London hospital after being admitted last night (April 5) for tests.
The singer’s publicist, Murray Chalmers PR, said in a statement that Ferry was admitted for 24 hours of observation and tests, but was discharged Wednesday.
The statement said “all is well” and Ferry will begin a European solo tour later this month as planned.
Ferry had to cancel on an appearance at an Olympic 2012 event at London’s O2 Arena as he was feeling unwell. No details of the mystery ailment – at this time.
NME notes that according to a source, Ferry underwent “precautionary tests” during his stay in hospital and is now recovering at his home in London. His publicist said that he had not suffered a heart attack but no one outside his inner circle really knows what’s up. Let’s just hope it’s nothing serious.
A legend of the 1970s glam rock scene, Ferry is one of the coolest, most stylish singers to grace the stage. The ‘suave,’ suit-wearing edition of Ferry from his heyday as a solo artist was as famous for his cool fashions as his excellent albums, like These Foolish Things (1973) and Another Time, Another Place (1974).
Ferry was recently on a world tour with a reunited Roxy Music in Scotland, England, Australia and New Zealand.
So it seems, at this time, the health scare isn’t that serious – especially if he isn’t canceling any shows coming up. He is scheduled to open a four-and-a-half-month-long European solo tour on April 19 in Israel.
Last year he released his latest solo album Olympia.
Perhaps it’s just exhaustion. But if the solo tour is a go, clearly it’s not that bad – as far as we know. But let’s just hope Ferry is, and stays, healthy.
