U2 And Beyonce Rumored To Headline Glastonbury 2011 With Coldplay

Proving that their festival headliners can be just as underwhelming and obvious as we Yanks and our desert fests, NME reports that U2 and Beyonce are set to headline this year’s Glastonbury festival with Coldplay in England.
“U2 have long-since been rumoured to be playing this year’s event, having cancelled their slot last year due to singer Bono having surgery. Organiser Michael Eavis previously said he’d asked the band to play at the 2011 festival.
“Eavis had also said of another 2011 headliner: ‘There’s an American artist that I’ve been wanting to have for years and yonks and yonks and yonks.’
“Now gossip website Holymoly.com has claimed that U2 and Beyonce are both booked, with Coldplay already revealed as headliners.”
So there you go, American concertgoers. Now, you no longer have to remain envious of Brit audiences and their stellar lineups—the next time you’re stuck at a fest, inexplicably watching Green Day or Lady Gaga headline over Arcade Fire or Devo, you tell yourself, “Hell, at least I’m not watching Bono wedge himself into a black leather suit and remind me about the dangers of capital gains tax to a 4/4 backbeat.”
What do you think of the Glastonbury headliners?
