Young Justice’s Danica McKellar & Olympic Skater Apolo Ohno Cast in Syfy Original Film ‘Tasmanian Devil’

Besides entertaining viewers with original series like Alphas, Being Human, Sanctuary and Haven, reality shows like Ghost Hunters and Faceoff, Syfy also offers a long line of shlocky, campy, genre-spanning original films. Who can forget Summer Glau in Mammoth (which got an Emmy nomination for special effects)? Famke Janssen in 100 Feet? Eric Roberts in last years spoof, Sharktopus. On Saturday, Syfys latest original film, winter monster thriller Rage of the Yeti starring Yancy Butler and David Chokachi. Syfy announced their latest original film Friday, Tasmanian Devil starring Danica McKellar (Young Justice and The Wonder Years) and Olympic speed-skater and gold medalist Apolo Ohno.

McKellar has built a recent career in voice acting with a regular role as Miss Martian on Cartoon Networks hit-show Young Justice, Generator Rex, and DC Showcase: Superman/Shazam!: TheReturn of the Black Adam. She just finished a sequel to the animated short film Flatland: The Movie which was based on Edwin Abbots novel. Flatland 2: Sphereland also stars Kristen Bell (House of Lies, Veronica Mars) Kate Mulgrew (Star Trek: Voyager) and Danny Pudi (Community). Ohno has been doing some novel cross training this past year having recently completed the New York City Marathon and won the fourth season of Dancing With The Stars with partner Julianne Hough in 2007. This will be Ohnos first acting role playing someone other than himself.
